Through its Colleges, National Committees, Technical Societies, Special Interest Groups and Divisions, Engineers Australia conducts some twenty major conferences and special events per annum. These attract some 4,500 participants, while generating a turnover in excess of $3m.
A review is being conducted to test the business case for adopting a major annual convention, which would group together a number of currently separate conference and special events, and incorporate additional activities in order to increase member value, promote Engineers Australia as a national institution, and generate revenue.
The review includes a survey which seeks to draw on experiences with conferences and events, and to canvass views on the proposal. The suvey is being co-ordinated by Paul Varsanyi Project Coordinator who asks EMC Society members to participate. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
